Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities: We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Junior Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in financial concepts, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to think logically. This role involves conducting detailed financial analysis and valuation, supporting investment banking activities, and developing financial models. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Accurately interpreting and inputting financial statements into Excel models.
- Analyzing financial statements to understand the interconnections between the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
- Calculating various financial ratios to assess company performance.
- Examining capitalization tables and share/option purchase agreements to identify different classes of securities, including Common, Preferred, Options, Warrants, Convertible, and Non-Convertible Notes.
- Determining total authorized and outstanding shares/options across different security classes.
- Detailed analysis of option agreements to extract information on issued and pooled options, their vesting schedules, and the status of exercised, canceled, and outstanding options.
- Integrating data from capitalization tables into valuation models.
- Conducting financial analysis, industry research, and economic trend analysis to forecast business performance and inform investment decisions.
- Performing company valuations using methodologies such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Comparable Public Companies, Precedent Transactions, and Back-Solve Method.
- Allocating values among different share classes using methods like the Option Pricing Model, Current Value Method, and PWERM.
- Preparing comprehensive valuation reports, incorporating findings from analysis and valuation exercises.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Educational Background: MBA (Finance), CFA, CA, CPA, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; 1-2 years of experience in financial analysis, valuation, or a related field is a plus.
Desired Skills:
- Strong foundation in business valuation and financial modeling.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
